Earlier this afternoon, Marvel Comics held a conference call to discuss the future of the Ultimate Spider-Man title. The book is set to hit issue #100 next month, and artist Mark Bagley recently announced that he will be departing the title with issue #110. Bagley and Bendis' run is noteworthy as it will surpass the Marvel Comics record for consecutive issues when issue #103 hits the stands.

I swear to god if the new guy is less than 1/4 as good as Bagley I have lost interest with this title. The only Spiderman title worth getting anymore.

Here's to the Record Breaking Duo, Mark Bagley and Brian Micheal Bendis!

Try to think of it this way: Spider-man may be in a slump now, but SM is marvel's most popular character.

Sooner or later, they'll find a person with the right amount of skill to do SM again.

Aw man, I was just getting to Ultimate Spiderman too. Hopefully it it'll still be good after dude leaves.

Well they release it every month, or bi monthly I think.. So its not like he'll be gone quickly.

I said the same thing when Sean Chen left Wolverine after his brilliant tenure during the 'Mr. X' saga, as well as when Frank Quitely started off New X-Men. But, you know...maybe things'll get a little better down the line.

I know how you feel. I kinda got the same feeling when Mike Deodato JR. left ASM, he and JMS were such a great team!
