InuYasha has been stale from the begining. Only good characters in the show are Miroku, Sango, and Sessohmaru. All the rest I could care less about. Inu Yasha is probably the dumbest character next to Goku and Kenshin (post Trust And Betrayal).

The thing I really hated about this show is the way the little fox guy and the green thing have to narrate EVERYTHING.
"Whaaaat? Inuyasha has drawn his sword against Naraku! Is he...is he going to cut him!?!?!?!"

Heh, love the avatar Nak lol
Yeah... they keep making up new abilities out of the blue for InuYasha with the tetsusaiga (spelling may be wrong) like wind scar, wind scar useable anywhere, backlash wave, etc... Yet he's always getting his ass kicked. It's become a pattern and I lost interest a while back.

Inuyasha apparently isnt getting stale. The creator claims that with the support of Japanese fans, the series will be running for another 2 years, for a total of 10 years. Inuyasha is good but I think the artists other stories are much better, like Ranma 1/2.

Only reason I'm still watching it is because I hate leaving shows unfinished, even such craptastical shows as Dragonball Z, Rurouni Kenshin, Final Fantasy Unlimited, and even InuYasha.

Alot of people looked for the wrong things in Inuyasha. They don't want talking and just fighting. Inuyasha, showing emotions is boring. The small love affair between characters is to "sissy". He needs a new move all the time forget its a sword and you slash with it. No, he needs 10 different variations on the Wind Scar.
Its not a bad series. Most people that watch it just expect the wrong things. Coming after and being put near series like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, and others doesn't help either.
I don't find it that stale. Some episodes do seem like fillers but when you go a long time you get that.

The artist does mostly draw romantic manga like Maison Ikkoku. (If you havent figured it out yet, Im a Rumiko Takahashi fan.)

Replying to Korlee's post a while ago: It's not that romance is boring, it's just the romance in Inuyasha is really two dimensional. One of my favorite anime series was His and Her Circumstances, that was nothing but romance, and it was engrossing. With Inuyasha, you knew exactly where their relationship was heading from the first episode. The whole "I don't like her I'm going to kill her and become a strong demon" shtick got old in it's third second.

That is a very simple question to answer. Can you lift up a knife right now sitting at your computer desc and plunge it into your heart without a second thought? I'm going to go with no. She's the undead but its still living in a form and your not going to just kill yourself. Especialy, when in a few episodes shes threatened people going over Inuyasha. Kinda like a guardian in the background. So she still feels purpose.

See, this right here is why I absulutely HATE Cartoon Network. I'll bet no one has ever even SEEN InuYasha in it's original, Japanese form. Seriously, I'm no fan of subtitles, but it's well worth it when it come to anime. All CN does is chop the fuck out of their shows. Like Cowboy Bebop. GREAT anime. Toonami get's a hold of it and killed the crap out it. Oh, and the crap you can buy at Wal-mart or Best Buy, or Suncoast, or wherever: It's not really uncut. They just let a few curse words go by and show a little blood every once in a while. Still cut.
Seriously though, the original Japanese version of InuYasha does kind of get stale towards the end, but that's about it. This American crap they feed you people... Utter shit.

My friends bought the manga when it was first released in the US (BEFORE they changed the cover design...grr!) and her first issue was ruined by a tragic pen explosion -_- RIP sweet manga...
Anywhoo...my friends pooled money and bought fansubs off the internet. The original is definitely way better and Kagome's voice isn't so ANNOYING!
I'll agree that american channels cut the crap out anime when they get it....but keep in mind half the stuff that gets away in Japan can't get on tv here...it's not "pc". I mean, I'm ready to bomb 4Kids...they and Viz/Funimation are the WORST!
But I'm off on a tangent...I'll hush now before I'm murdered

Just a little fact:
The longest anime is Doreamon 1979. It started in 1979 (duh) and is still getting new episodes made to this day. Although I don't know the exact episode count it is over 2000. Second longest is Sazae-san with 1700 epsides. No new ones of Sazae-san are being made though.

I didn't mean it as an insult if that's what you got from it. I was just stating that those two are the longest running animes in history. In fact neither of those two have been licensed anywere else that I'm aware of so it would be hard for many to know about them. Question:
How many episodes of InuYasha does it take to change a lightbulb?
Answer:
1 episode for the bulb to break.
1 episode for the characters to mourn the bulb.
1 episode to find out it was Naraku who broke.
1 episode to find out that InuYasha needs yet another special technique to beat Naraku.
1 episode to find out he needs to kill some overrated demon to get the technique.
1 episode to find the demon.
1 episode to kill the demon(5 seconds for the actual battle, 29:55 for commentary and lame trash talking).
1 episode to find Naraku's castle even though they've found it around ten times already.
1 episode to get past Naraku's flunkies.
1 episode to find Naraku.
1 episode for Naraku to pretty much pwn InuYasha and then leave before he finishes the job.
1 episode for InuYasha to recover, causing Kagome to talk about her feelings.
1 episode for Kagome to grab a lightbulb from the future.
1 episode for some minor demon to somehow get past InuYasha and destroy the lightbulb.
Repeat for 12 seasons. While you're at it, wonder why the feuidal era needs lightbulbs when they have no electricity.

I think it started pretty well but got horribly stale in a reasonably short length of time. I just hated the characters and if you hate them, the story just loses less and less of yer intrest - exactly the case for me about this.
It needs to die. "Heeeeere lucas! Heeeeere boy!" :)

Yeah, it kind of gets repetitive. At first, it presents all these original characters and a whole set of ideas. Then the same thing has to happen over and over. Very much, like many have said, like the Dragonball series.

The only thing i find that's not stale is Miroku. >_>
he is predictable, but when episodes that feature him as the "main" attraction get surprising twists. but that's all about covers it. otherwise, it becomes as badly stale as Sailor Moon. (I don't say DBZ because they just do nothing but power-up. Inuyasha doesn't power-up repeatedly.)

Yeah, the show got canceled on german TV pretty soon, so I have no idea how it goes on... ..but I was pretty afraid that it will drag on like Ranma 1/2 ... While I was watching it though, it was still pretty active and such, but like I said, it got canceled some 10 episodes after wich the whole gang had assembled.
*shrugs*
Oh if you wanna know WHY it's canceled, I guess it's because it was too violent. They already cut a lot of the stuff out, like when Inuyasha severs Sesshomaru's arm, they cut out the actual cutting. You see himraise the sword , and zuck, it's over and the guy lost an arm.
Guess they got too much they'd have to cut, so they took it off. Maybe it just wasnt popular though. Now it's beeing released uncut on DVD.

actually, i'll say this. i like the series, even if it is stale. especially the whole story. it's the same thing: killing Naraku, getting jewel shards, same old Kagome narration. but the story does fit neatly. it just seems stale due to so many thing being overused again at times and sometimes is nonsensible.
We already know how strong Inuyasha is, it's just that the story has to perlong in order for some small comical breaks from the series, and most of them are enjoyable. the comedy is not stale, but the story is, that's all i really see in Inuyasha.
Inuyasha has gotten stale. And also lmao. When the anime ends it's not over. Also the manga is not even finished yet there for good luck on waiting for the ending.:nyah: Rumiko Takahashi (creator) has a reputation for dragging her creations out for a long time. And I thought the concept for inuyasha was good but then it got terrible. Also i bet the series would only be 50 episodes if you got rid of all the fillers. And i think and anime should be at the most 50 episodes. But that's at the most. So the lesson is don't drag anything out to long!

Meh, it wasn't THAT bad... it was very interesting up to the part when we wouldn't turn into a demon anymore and fixed his sword. Then it just dragged on... but other than that the series was good. Not terrible, not glorious, just good, ok, meh, cool I guess, etc.

there have been times when I have wanted to reach into the tv and kill some of the secondary InuYasha characters...because they wont F***king shut up!!!
I know what is going on!!! at the beginning of every episode, someone talks for five to ten minutes about the happenings of the last eleventy-thousand (totally made up number) episodes.
either that or it's a filler episode with absolutely no point. And the cliches? everywhere, I plotted out at least 4 of the episodes after the firt two minutes and turned them off.

First I think we should all sit and reflect on the wisdom of the idea that Bad Anime = "American" Anime.
Inuyasha definitely became stale a long time ago. Now the show has its moments so I don't like to say I want it to end, but I'd like it to start moving toward the end. Either that or the writing needs to step up an awful lot to at least move plot-less episodes into the realm of "pointless, visceral entertainment."
SO STALE.its not even funny anymore. its one of those animes that is really only there to make new otakus, or to introduce u to anime. its very pathetic, to. i mean, what is their point anymore?! do the even HAVE A FRIKIN POINT???? I THINK NOT. THEY NEVER GET ANYWHER, DO ANYTHING, AND for gods sakes, THE SHOWS LACKS MEANING! YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE UGLIBUTT CHARECTORS, you just want to see them die alone and cold. why do they want the shards/jewl anymore, if inuyasha has already decided that it wasn't fun to be all demonylike, and kagome ALWAYS ends up doing nothing while inuyasha stupidly fights in a stupid way. she could ve doing stuff though, scine she is the o-so-significant reincarnation of kikyo. WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT HER ANYWAY? woot, she can be all like: i can purify the jewl. WHY DIDN'T SHE WHEN SHE HAD IT?????? crazy. demented.plus, naraku never dies, and it became SOOOOO stale, that after e while, i died.

I agree with what everyone has said about InuYasha, but I still like the series, and I dont know why, it is incredibly stale, yet that doesnt bother me that much, I amy not be into it as much as I used to be, but it is still a some what good show in my opinion... I was really, really, really into the show but about 80 episodes into the show, I started to lose interest, slowly... I dont want it to end soon, I still like watching it, but I am sure Rumiko could have improved it a bit more that what it is right now...

also, there's tons of reasons why inuyasha wants to become full demon still. how would people feel if they were ridiculed all their lives because they were a half demon? not much fun. and kagome couldn't have possible purified it since it was ALREADY purified. duh. And it is predictable, but still... some eps are not. it is japanese like if you watch the undubbed verision >< that didn't make sense did it. lol well i like it unenglish..ized. lol...

I wish I had a huge-ass sword, too.....
Don't double post please. And also if inuyasha is so intrested in becoming a demon then how come he never talks about it? Also we all know he is probably going to turn human and live happily ever after with Kagome. But wait! Kagome and inuyasha's relationship could NEVER work out. Because it would change the past completely. Seeing as someone would have written down in history that a girl with a school uniform that is the reincarnation of Kikyo has been trouncing around with a half demon. Also since Kikyo was a priestess that means that Kagome has more of a chance of being noticed. And have you noticed that even tho Sango is a demon exterminator and was trained since her childhood she still can't beat a demon without inuyasha. And also Miroku and Shippo are just kinda there for comic relief for every now and then. Also in almost ever episode Inuyasha was mortally wounded and on his last leg and Kagome standing there with her bow and arrow would be like, "OMG INUYASHA!!!!! WHAT CAN I DO TO SAVE YOU?!?!?" And then when inuyasha is nearly dead Kagome pulls out an arrow and finally kills the demon. But this only happens ever so often. And also Kohaku's death is inevitable so they should just pull out the stupid jewl and be done with it. Instead of having him suffer longer. Because even if he did get better somehow he would remember killing everyone. And Jokutsu or whatever his name is scares me a lot. He seems to be attracted to inuyasha and he called Miroku "sexy". And now I end my rant on why I do not like Inuyasha. Because some people what to know why others do not like Inuyasha at all. And if I have any misspelled words don't tell me because I really do not care.

I know that the anime is over and it doesn't resolve anything at all, but in all honesty, I don't see the manga actually ever ending. I see Rumiko having the group gather up all the shards, only to have it shatter again and ahve them walk into the sunset on another quest to rejoin the jewel for the second time, ala ranma 1/2
Rumiko Takahashi SUCKS at endings. She knows this is a cash cow, and she's going to milk it for all it's wroth. After all, she's got boat payments.

I liked the series up until Inuyasha learned to cut through barriers...I know he's powerful enough and COULD have killed Naraku and got the series into a personal series now with comedy and the such, but i guess we just HAVE to have more demons plotting on becoming more powerful...because Japan is literally crawling with them...so let's keep'em coming!
there's still some light in the series though...but i know it's finished. and Sesshomaru should kill Inuyasha while i still consider him cool. he should be doing stuff like training Rin to be a kick ass ninja to defend herself since she's a pain to begin with. <_< >_>

Oh, he's training her alright... But on something else... *cough cough* :yikes:
I really can't say I enjoy the show, as everyone said it drags way too much. In fact, they can loop the episodes in certain seasons and I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them half the time. Same plots and soul-less characters used over and over again. The only time I really liked the show was when Miroku was molesting various womens or Inuyasha was terrorizing the cat.
The character designs are pretty good, but it's all action-figures and toys nowadays. In fact, a girl I know who LOVES the show blindly buys everything Inuyasha, even if it's not worthy of anyone's money, it's sickening. Strangely enough, she was the same way about Yu Yu Hakusho. I told her not to buy the GBA game, and that it was awful, even showed her all the bad reviews of it. a month later, and -30$, that same game is collecting dust under a bed somewhere.

They should make a spin-off based on Miroku. Actually... that wouldn't be too good...
Maybe just a compilation of everything he's done in the series would work. Miroku is awesome, but clearly is there for nothing other than another person to narrate the fight between Inuyasha and [random demon], and occasional humorous diversion.
Actchualy I think that Inuyasha is geting a little repetitive. thats it

inuyasha ended a forever ago, but the stupid manga is still going. there is little to spoil in the series, all i know is that it involes a cave and naraku and one of his creepy births. ah...that was an AWESOME spoiler.

So when are you guys going to stop repeating what most animes do that are more than 30 episodes long? You do know that most animes start long before the manga is ever even close to being finished. So alot of the episodes in longer animes are fillers. Even Full Metal Alchemist had a different ending story for this reason. One that I hated. Even more so after I read the much better story in the manga.
Also when are you going to stop typing like "OmG!1!111 InuYaSh!!11 ThE SuCK!!11"? Ya, we get it. You hate the anime. At least have the decency to not hurt my brain with your horrible typing and grammar. If your going to piss all over an anime I happen to like.
Also if its so bad and so horrible to watch and read the manga. Then how come you watched nearly all the episodes fan-subbed and the like? Read the manga till the newest one out? 5 of the manga and 10 of the episodes is more than enough for bitching rights if you don't like something. So come on tell me. If its that bad how come your still watching it and researching into it to find out more about the characters and such? I mean come on. You hate it after all so by now you should be watching something you know you like. Instead of you know. This very crappy anime. "rolls eyes"
Anyways, to the rest of you. Ya, I know a few of you on it are like this. Theres always some in any forum because its easier to agree that state anything else. In all fairness, I stopped watching inu yasha at episode 120. Between giant cyborg ninjas, the crappy ending of the band of 7 story arc, and the fact that Naraku becomes the ultimate death machine, and does NOTHING but walk away from every fight presented by the various teams, I had had quite enough.
NOTHING can happen for only so long before I stop giving the show the benefit of the doubt.
acctually, this is what happens on the last episode. naraku lures inuyasha & co into a stomache of one off his births. then, they all combine the jewl, and then naraku flees, and while trying to control his demon side, kagome and inuyasha stick the jewel in the tetsaiga to make it uber strong, and then they slice and dice their way out of the evil...thing...and then are ready to fight naraku again. but what happens next?!!! the world may never know, because appairently, in the end off inuyasha they don't beat naraku, or stuff. i dunno. if you know otherwise, prove me wrong.

Did you ever think that we may have watched the anime and decided we hated it? I used to be a huge fan. Heck I bought a lot of the crap. I have an inuyasha and Kirara plush from Japan and a set of keychains. And also I have read my share of fan-fics. But then the series got old over time. This is at least to say I did not research the series just to hate it. And also I started to not like the series of my own free will. Not because everyone told me to. And also the manga for fullmetal alchemist did not end in japan yet. Also I have not read the manga or watched the anime for inuyasha in a looong time. Sometimes I will occasionaly watch it because I'm board, or to check how far they are now. And if they cut out all the fillers in the anime then there would be 50 or less episodes. I hate it when people assume everyone thinks the same way. And by the way I do not hate most anime with more than 30 episodes.
And no I don't care about my grammer. I'm not even going to read over this to check if I even spelled things correctly.

Yet look at that fully developed body...anime artists are wierd.
It just seems like EVERYTHING is repeating itself.
Naraku keeps coming back to hatch his diabolical scheme *dun dun dun*
Koga keeps showing up for no apparent reason
Kikiyo (sp?) keeps coming back for no apparent reason
There's ALWAYS a bad guy that's slightly stronger than the one before (DBZ effect)
And for some horrible reason EVERY character no matter how small or unimportant deserves at least four episodes. That in no way relate to the main story.
