View Full Version : Good place to sell shirt designs? (Cafepress or something like that?)

Hey everyone. I've got a few ideas for t-shirts that I want to sell, and I know there are some places where you can submit designs for others to buy. The thing is that don't know anything about which ones are trustworthy, give decent commission, and have a good consumer base + advertising.

Does anyone here have any experience with this? Input would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I donno about trustworthy, since I don't sell shirts through any of them (got a few ideas of my own though, just no money to order them with), but there's Cafepress, Penny Arcade sells their stuff through ThinkGeek, and Scotty uses ZeStuff.

Both accept shirt designs and reward you with store credit or cash, I forget for threadless but I'm almost certain jinx rewards you in credit usable on their site. You're kind of limited though you need more of a conceptual artful design on a place like threadless considering its for independent deisgner's and those types of shirts sell the most and for jinx you're pretty limited to some nerd jokes about the internet or badly drawn recognizable video game characterd for it to move. It's got more limitations that say zestuff but its definitely cheaper.

Credit isn't really useful to me, but thanks for those suggestions. I realized that I can always switch or add stores, so for now I'll just go with cafepress.

I only ahve one design up, and will probably do a PS3 version of this later. If anyone thinks something else would sell better, let me know and I can easily add more. (I realize I'm no genius designer here ^^; )

...

I'd so get that shirt if I had money. I totally would. If only to state the truth.

Seems a little plain though. I'm not sure how the T shirt business works, but there's gotta be somehow to liven it up a little bit. It just seems boring right now.

No offense taken, they took about 30 minutes to make. It's just text. ^^;

I thought it would be funny to actually go through with, and could make a few bucks in the process, not off people here, but from some random people it could reach.

If you need any art work for your shirt, I'd be glad to help.

Thanks for the offer, Johnny, but I don't think I'll be doing anything special with these. Really it's just to give a few gamers a laugh and hopefully make a few quick bucks in the process. I gotta buy all those holiday gifts! ^^;

I'd buy it, but I was successful in my linear pursuits.

Just so you know which ones NOT to go with. Jinx is a dick about royalties and Cafepress sucks. Hard. As they are just iron ons. Also once you give the design to jinx... that's it.. they own it.

Hey, if you take suggestions, I've always wanted a shirt that says, "I bought this T-shirt and all I got was this crappy T-shirt."
