List your best moments in anime. Most moving, badass, funny or just amazingly animated; anything that made you sit back and think, "holy crap, that was amazing". Mine would be

Mind Game: The God scene. It truly defies description; just watch it.

One Piece:Gol D. Roger's execution flashback and the preceding Loguetown escape right to the end. I loved everything in that arc, but those were undoubtedly the highlights.

FLCL: The ending. Naota gaining the power of Atomsk, the preceding battle, Naota's confession and the ending closeup of Haruko's guitar; everything was pure genius.

Naruto: The end of the first episode and Kakashi's speech from Ep 5. Those might not seem like much, but it was pretty much what got me into anime to begin with. I used to be a huge fan of US animation at that point and a borderline anime hater, but those scenes were what changed my opinion of it.

Shinobuden: A certain scene in episode 4. Anyone who's watched it probably knows what I'm refering to.

Can't forget in GTO when Onizuka got bitten by a snake in a rather painful place xD

Enies Lobby I bet, since that seems to be the biggest.

Mine is some parts in the Sakura vs. Ino fight. I never got too interested in the anime, but I did like the fight.

And several moments from One Piece. When Luffy punches Crocodile for the first time, Chopper's flashback, Sanji's flashbacks... And one scene during the Drum Arc made me realize (more) about who Luffy is when. When he has Sanji and Nami on his back, both near death, and he stops to help one of those giant rabbits out of the snow and continues on like nothing happened.

Saikano, when Chise is talking to the troops about Shuji and the enemy attacks. That's when you can really see her becoming more weapon than human.

Saikano, BTW, is far and away the most depressing series I've ever watched, topping Now and Then, Here and There by quite a margin.

Evangelion.

The episode where the phallic light angel attacked that first appeared as a halo. When Shinji went to save Rei, Rei saw that the angel, Shinji and herself were going to become one. In a beautiful display of artistry, she decides to allow Shinji to remain an individual (and thus allow him to make the same choice later) and takes the angel into her Eva, before self-destructing.

It's just such a beautiful moment.

Enies Lobby one. Had so much buildup and sadness and hate and then she FINALLY said that. I loved it when I read it in the manga, and loved it even more in the anime. Her VA just pulled it off so great (plus with Luffy smirking and Franky being all "WAAH I LOVE YOU GUYS!" it was just superawesome).

Gundam Wing
When Wufei killed Treize in their final battle in space. I loved Treize as a character because he was do deep and interesting, unlike many other "villains" in the series and the way he accepted (and possibly caused) his death was rather sad. Awesome none the less though.

Bleach
Isshin Kurosaki was one of my favorite characters in the Bleach series. His strange methods of raising his family and just the fact that he was funny as hell contributed to that... Finding out that he was a Shinigami made him four hundred times cooler. That was an amazing moment, not only because it made him far more badass, but I never saw it coming.


Naruto
During the Second Arc, when Gaara's Shukaku was extracted from his body and he was killed. Granted he was revived, but it was still a "Holy shit!" moment.

Tri-Gun
Wolfwoods death... It still pisses me off to this day.

Rosette and Chrono's deaths. I knew they were coming (THANK YOU INTERNET), but they surprised me by being absolutely perfect. Loved how they got their year of peace, too.

Yes, the end of the cell saga was the peak of DBZ, and the show should have ended forever right there.

Cowboy Bebop: When the stuff in the hidden fridge turns into a monster and attacks the crew, and Spike opens the airlock and sucks it into space. Loved that episode.

Naruto: The whole first arc, and when Naurto fights Neiji, and when he hunts down and fights Sasuke at the border.

Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: When Heero rendevous with Wing Zero, and activates it before it gets shot into the sun. Also, when the critically damaged Wing Zero appears over the underground fortress, and the little girl villain (can't spell her name) challenges Heero to fire on them, thinking that the fortress was impenitrable, to which Heero replies, "Roger that." and fires. Damn that rocked. It was a shame that Wing Zero fell apart though.

Cowboy Bebop, the fight with Mad Pierrot or the episode Mushroom Samba.

Lupin III. Pretty much the only episode I didn't like was where they broke into a vault with pressure-sensitive floors and they had to use plungers and pulleys to steal the loot. ...if the floor is pressure sensitive, wouldn't an alarm have gone off if the pressure were to suddenly decrease, from, oh, say 2 full grown men jumping off of a cart and suspending themselves from the ceiling? I guess the episode was a favorite in that I hated every single nonlogcal moment of it.

Howl's Moving Castle: When Turniphead turned back to normal and proclaimed the girl his true love, though he knew he had to give her up to Howl because she loved Howl over Turniphead. ;-;

Just about every anime ending makes me tear up. Leaves me craving MOAR

Oh yeah, there was also one moment in Paranoia Agent that made me go mad. I didn't fully understand the scene, I came in at a random moment really, but Spoiler? it showed the assistant detective guy laying on the floor, listening to some kind of recording.

While on Paranoia Agent, I loved the part when Shounen Bat hits that officer, but doesn't knock him out. The officer gets back up and throws his shoe at him or something, then starts stomping on the kid.

When Merry cries. The flashbacks of Luffy and Usopp together. When Sanji pushes Chopper down after he just said, "Let me help him! I'm a doctor!" When Chopper 'gives' Usopp the medical items. And when Luffy cries while saying, "It's... heavy..."

Seriously, I don't think there's been a better friend vs. friend fight than this.

That was kind of suprising for me, too. There were lots of cool Digmon moments, but only in seasons 1 and 2.

Lessee, umm.... Princess Mononoke, the scenes where the main character is brought back to life, the scene where he chops the marauder's head clean off with an arrow, and where he's shot by the rifle/cannon and just keeps walking. Also, the part where he has to leave his villageade me tear a tiny bit.

I have to agree with adcon on that rail car scene from Cowboy Bebop, as well as the carnival fight.

The only DBZ thing I ever liked was where Buu sucessfully kills every human being on the face of the planet. No other villain has been able to do this, to my knowledge. Oh, and the episode where Vegeta tries to argue that pink is "a very manly color".

Yu Yu Hakisho had a few great scenes, but I forget which ones at the moment.

I have more, but I'll have to spend more time recalling them.

On Spike, it's ambiguous, right? I mean when I saw it I was sure he was dead (like, his star went out), and it was a great but very sad ending. Yet when I read interviews of the creators in magazines, they ALWAYS give horrendously ambiguous answers to the question of wether he died or not.

Actually he DID live. There was a 27th episode which was a pure recap. It had Spike fly back to the Bebop and he kind of gave his own opinion on the events. They never aired the episode because they wanted to leave it "open" to the viewers. Watanabe's input is simply "I've never officially said that he's died." which means if they want to do a sequal, they might, just have to do it right. He doesn't want to piss off fans.

The Wiki says it's scheduled for this Fall. And the aired season finale was more of a season finale than "Someday in the Rain", which was just a little heartwarming at the end. "Melancholy 5", however, had a "What happened after that?" and an epic end.

Take your pick, but I liked "Live Alive" as far as a good ending goes. "Day of Saggitaurus" wins in the way of comedy.
