We are talking a one on one battle, between one of the most powerful superheros ever and a human being with no conceivable weapons to kill him. Like i said. in other words - Superman would not lose on virtue of him being a nice guy. If that was the case, they would never fight in the first place, because they are nice guys. If they had to fight, and one of them had to win, using all their powers, Superman would destroy him.

Basically waht you are saying is that Batman would only win if he was holding a city of people hostage. What of they fought in a jungle? or space ship? or an entirely desrted planet? Just because you think superman would have a moral quandry in a small subset of all situations, does not mean Batman would win.

Doesn't Superman Lose his powers if the wavelength of the sun's light changes? If Batman took the time to plan out an attack when Superman trusted him, then it would be over. But this entire situation is very much impossible. From what I remember, his power loss was gradual, so he would have enough time to vaporize Batman, and reverse the change.

Actualy, what this would come down to. Where would the fight occur and why is it happening? For the most part anyways. There are certian areas where Superman would win hands down. Likewise for Batman as well. They've had many comics on this and had some very interesting storylines. In most of them it came down to what I said. "Where would the fight occur and why is it happening?"

Both parties have advantages over the other. Being able to snap someone like a twig doesn't mean you'll win hands down nor does having the others weakness mean you have them at your mercy. Its a mute arguement since its all situational.

Batman always wins in the comics without fail.

He won in the Dark Knight Returns
He won in the Dark Knight Strikes Again
He won in the fairly recent Hush storyarc

Even when they individually went up against Xenomorphs, Batman fought them and won. He even went up against them again in a follow-up comic and was victorious. Superman, on the other hand, got pwned by a face hugger and died. Granted, it was an elseworld story, but my point should be clear.

first of, you can't compare if you dont come up with some borderline limitations... this argument is about as competative as "My dad can beat your dad up"

If you were to have a no bars fight... as in each person would use every ability to there max (Meaning superman ditches his boy scout persona and batman looses his empathy to people who are a victim to crime) then superman would win
even if batman could plan ahead (Which is stupid, because why would he be the one who provokes the attack with him being a good guy) superman is still just as intelligent and much faster to counter him (Being he knows batman as well as batman knows superman)
