View Full Version : Car vs. Motorcycle and Offensive Comic
I currently am working on 2 comics of varying style. Please let me know what you think.
http://www.carvsmotorcycle.com
and
http://www.offensivecomic.com
They are both humor comics, so no anime crap or action that has no action, et cetera.
Thanks for your time.

it's not funny. at all. offensive comic is okay, but Car v Motorcycle just sucks.
I agree. Offensive comic and it's pure randomness is funny, car vs. motorcycle is trying too hard.

you should combine the two comics together. I think that would be the best solution. Though i don't realy like your characters too much form car vs. motorcycle, they don't realy stand out at all. other than that, i like em.

Eh, Perry Bible without the funny.

i like em both to be honest, car vs motorcycle is the usual brand of gross out humor and beating things if they dont work, and the other is just funny without words

I didn't think it was all that great at first. Then I read this.

And I laughed really, really, really hard.
Your art is okay, could be better but hey; so could mine. Your writing is pretty good, hit or miss, but that's with most comics. I'm only reading Car vs Motorcycle right now, but I'll take a look at the other one fairly soon.
Guys, actually read a comic's archives before you pass judgement. Even the greats have an off day (Or in the case of some comics, every day is an off day. (http://www.penny-arcade.com))
*edit* And the Ornament joke was pretty dang good writing right there.

i did. true, CvM has one or two gems, but overall, most of the comcis aren;t that funny.

Well, I'ma stick with him. Why? I dunno. The space ones amuse me. Sure some don't as much as others... but I think it reminds me of Nicho's comic.

I like it, both of them.
CvM is like most other comics i read, and offensive is violent and sadistic!!
Thanks for the comments, everyone. I know that some of the early ones are flat, but I feel that deleting them from the archives (so that just the ones i'm proud of were available) would be intellectually dishonest, so they stay up.
The Offensive Comic is more of an experiment in web comic theory, mainly that the art doesn't matter. The traffic has proven this to be true, as OffCom's traffic has already vaulted to over 400 uniques per day in a little over 20 days of existence.
Its frustrating, because I put much more time into CvM and its traffic is barely a fourth that of a comic that literally takes 10 minutes per strip, if that. But it does prove what I was thinking, that the art is secondary to the content.

who's that bev guy that did the guest strips? he's an asshole, and he's not funny.

offensive comic was some what funny... but car vs motorcycle needs some more humor.

Its people like you, Torrent, that hold back the webcomic genre from the credit it deserves. I've seen your stuff, and if you believe you have room to bandy about criticism for other people's work, you're sadly mistaken. What are you trying to prove, little guy?

ooh! flame war! i can tell this'll be amusing.
do you really think you're some kind of comic revolutionary? do you have any idea how many comics are out there that are exactly the same as Offensive Comic?
and at least my comic is occasionally funny.
Who said anything about being revolutionary. I just stated quite plainly that you're a rude person and that rude people are the worst part about doing webcomics. You seem to take pleasure in expressing your opinion when the opinion is rude. Constructive criticism is one thing, what you do is just low.
By the way, I'd like to see some of these "comics are out there that are exactly the same as Offensive Comic". Please send me some links.

I think his tagline of 'penis contract killa' shows all  <.< sorry, not my place to start tossing insults and the like.
Personally I like the comic. Yea, some of the earlier ones gave me a good eyebrow raise, and sometimes an eye roll...but overall it was entertaining enough to keep me going.
No process is without its pain, and you'll always end up getting the annonomous dickwads on forums (not calling anyone that). Its just the simple fact that in person, people are much less to piss you off. Behind a screen name and a sprite icon, however, we're all much more heinous. Whatcha gonna do, come to my door and beat me with a bat?

Offensive comic actually has quite alot of funny ones, despite their offensiveness.

I laughed out loud more then once.
I'm going to get back to hunting children now, as I'm obviously sick and twisted.
Whip it out, funny man. Let's see your superior work.
How about EVERYONE whips it out! Equality!

The link to the carvsmotorcyle doesnt work for me.
I looked at the offensiveness comic, majority was funny and I found few horribly wrong and out of order. But some I didnt get the joke, whats that disabled guy on a wheelchair about? I need an explanation.
But overall it was funny. That guy, who did two of guest strips, knuckle or whatever he is, should really think before he creates it.
Yeah, I just requested support from my webhost for CvM. I don't know what the issue is.
The wheelchair strip: he's committing suicide via hanging.
The Jordan

and, when he dies, he's still in a wheelchair. that's the punchline.

The Japanese guys actually look more chinese to me LoL
but they are kinda funny in am offensive way
Also available on CvM is "An 80's Cad". Its sort of a tongue-in-cheek parody of ctrl+alt+del that is set in the late 80's.
http://www.carvsmotorcycle.com/80sCAD/index.php
It is mostly send-ups of 80's pop culture.

Dude I swear what's really sad about 80's Cad is it's a million times funnier than even the best Ctrl+Alt+Del comics.
