That's your country code.
For UK, it would be 44, then you put in your prefix (if you have those over there) and your phone number.

... you got confused by a phone?
In the UK all our home phone numbers begin with 0 - but not everyone knows that our area code (i.e. if we were to call the UK from another country) is 44.
So for example if the number was 0208 123-4567 then it would be 44208 123-4567.
It not all that common knowledge because, well, why dial 44 when you can just dial 0.

You know, you're right Eddache. I have no idea what my country code is. I just dial 1.

You're in Canada. I don't think you have one, or Canada and US have the same one.
Or something.

Or something. But what if I end up in Rwanda and I need to get a ride home, Emtu? I can't take that chance. I. JUST. CAN'T.

when you get a call on a mobile phone the first zero is replaced with +44 so you could try checking your mobile or cell or whatever you call it. It might be there. I didnt know why it was 44 til today.

yeah i realised that +44 replaces the 0 on a mobile phone number but i never knew why

To call a Canadian number from Rwanda, you dial 00 for Rwanda's international access code, followed by 1 for Canada's country code.
So if your number was 0303 123-4567 then you'll have to dial 001303 123-4567 (note you knock off the first 0 in the original number).

A better solution would be to get one of those international cell phones that works everywhere. I think maybe 1 service carrier in the entire US supports those.

Just make sure a dinosaur doesn't swallow it.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has this to say about hosting your webcomic on Keenspace: Don't.

Heh that's the main difference between DD and Keenspace; the wait. Although the wait for a Keenspace site is much better now. Back in my day we had to wait months to get a site!
