I used to have Lord of Destruction; the expansion to Diablo II... it was so awesome when I first started out with some friends, but after I had afew high level characters I realised how much the system was corrupt, full of deceit.... sure the new patch helped, but it wasnt long until people figured new ways of ripping each other off and hacking items..... took all the fun out of trading, which was the main part of online play. If by complete, you mean defeat all of the bosses on all of the difficulties...then yeah, I did that about 3-4 years ago. I had a level 80-something Druid.
It was fun at the time, but there really isn't much to do once you beat all of the bosses three times over...

Yup, I could beat it with my friend and my level 40 sorc. I maxed out ice orb and my friend had fire. So nothing could stop us. So basically, get friends and beat the game.

Are you deprived? I have a poision necromancer (which isn't a type of necormancer that many people use because they think it's not very good) and it can do nightmare easy. Spare anything immune to poision. Hell, there's a challange. It is said thatwith the latest patch hell is 7 times harder than it used to be.

You obviously never played a Summonancer. I only take damage by chain lightning and other things. And my skeletons never die. Never.

I got all my friends re-hooked on this, and I'm having fun with non-standard variants:

Samurai - An assassin using a two-handed sword. The skills down the center of the martial arts tree don't NEED claws, and three of the four finishers don't need them, either. Plus, all of the blade-traps are based on weapon damage, so with a huge Elite sword, your Blade Fury is doing umpteen thousand damage for practically free, and you can charge up Tiger Strike, finish with Dragon Flight, and kick-boom for about 15k damage. WHEEE!!!

Poizon - Poison based Javelin Amazon. With my Valk tanking for me at level 22, she spawns with a rare Diadem, which can have any mod in the game, and my Valk usually does more damage than me. Plus, 7000 poison damage to the entire screen is nice, especially with Lightning Fury backing it up while the cloud spreads. It's not even funny, really....

Ironbarb - Ironskin, Shout, Concentrate, a big shield and high dex... lets hear is for 11,000 defense and maxed blocking with 85 resists accross the board. I don't do a LOT of damage, but NOTHING cal kill me. I can stand in Act V Hell, surrounded, and just watch my life tick slowly... down... down... down.... down... by this time, whoever I am with in my party has killed everyone.

Explodomancer - Ok, this is kinda standard, but with maxed Corpse Explosion, a buttload of Skeletons, and stackable curses (Attract stacks with everything, including Lower Resist and Decrepify) It's just like playing Dengeon Keeper. I control the monsters, and they sort of die just by accident. WHEEE!

And I have some fun standards:

Dogfather the Werewolf. Everything dies. Everything. Roar.

Bambi_Blaze the Sorc. Everything dies. Everything. Crackle.

Crushadin - Zeal + 110% crushing blow and %130% deadly strike, and 80% chance to blind, thanks to assorted gear my other characters find. I don't NEED to do a lot of damage. Evertything just stands around while I kill it.

I'm going to try your Samurai varient, which sword did you use? And which skills did you max out?

Blade Fury (which is based on Weapon Damage) - Definitely needs points in this.
Tiger Strike - Come on, 1400% damage... COME ON.....
Cobra Strike - 1 pt. MORE Than enough with this much damage.
Dragon Tail - Explodey-finisher non-pareil. With charged up Tiger Strike, NOTHING survives this.
Phoenix Strike - Can suck my ass. No points.

Burst of Speed - 10 pts or so will be enough to get your sword moving like a chainsaw.
Fade - 10 Points - This and BoS stack. Nuff said. With both at level ten you get almost 4 minutes at this.
Mind Blast - 1 pt here for mobbings to save your ass.
Shadow Master - Level 5 will give you a durable mule.

Blade Fury - 1 pt here is all you need, since eventually the "Bonus Damage" will pale in comparison to 3/4 Weapon Damage. You can max it if you have points. One mana to cast at level 1
Blade Shield - With no actual shield, or blocking, and low armor, you WILL Get mobbed. Take as many with you as you can.


And this.... is the Samurai. Recommended gear for various stages of the game:

Now, you don't NEED a sword, but they are the fastest. If you focus in Blades, go with a Maul / Great maul. For swords:

Shadowfang - Low damage, high leech. Good switch.
Crainte Vormir - slows enemies, increases your walk speed, WICKED fast.
Swordguard - Bad-ass damage, and big bonuses to defense.
Doombringer - Chance to Curse, +20% life, big damage. Woo.

The Minotaur - Axe. Crushing blow, big damage, blinds enemies.
Frostwind - +3 to skills, 4 sockets, WICKED FAST, Life leech, huge cold damage, 100% crushing blow, +300% damage to Demonds, and 65% cold immune = 30% of cold damage is turned into life. PLUS you assassin looks SO COL with an axe as big as she is.

Shaftstop - GREAT when you're getting pounded, -30% physical damage!
Skin of the Vipermagi - Big resist all, +1 to skills, high defense.

I basically invested all my points into Skeleton Mastery to increase the skills of my Revive. with Maxed out Revive, at least 5 points into Summon Skeleton/Mage, i use sticks and stones to increase the rest of my abilities and master bone Spirit for magical offense against powerful high lv monsters.

Sorc arent the best, they're just the easiest. My HC Sorc is level 67, just because I never let myself get anywhere near danger. It's also not too fun. As for "getting good", an assassin at level 1 kills faster than just about anything, all the way up to level 30. It's when they get to Hell that they suddenly cant kill CRAP.

yea but im not saying taking dmg but how are your summons gonna be able to do fire ele and ice dmg defense is ok but when your taking on hordes of monsters with all diff types of immunes, and i dont think skele mages will do that much dmg

And you don't need bone wall to control your skeletons, you need an Enigma, +1 to teleport. And wherever you teleport, the skeletons are right on top of you.

I used to play but because I got serousy bored after awhile I stopped. But it is still a awesome game I love barbs the most Duel wielding swords rocks specially with whirlwind. Anyone still use Baha game? I hate people that teleport because they think you can't get them but I played with lvl 79 barb that could kill anything.

FTR, dual-wielding with Whirlwind doesn't work to well, since a) your off-hand weapon is used for damage and speed, b) the range on a sword is at most 3, and c) any decent maul or pike would be WAY better with whirlwind, since they have way higher damage and range 6.

Sorcs arn't really cheap, they're good MF'ers though. Because all MF items suck and Sorcs don't need to do any physical damage. So yeah. Don't MF with any other character if you're really serious on getting items.

Just bad luck.

They say 300-400% is good because after that point the increase in actually finding stuff doesn't rise as much. However, having more will in no way make it less likely for rares or whatnot to drop.

i focus on making my revived monsters distract the enemy as i focus on using spells like Bone Spirit. i love revive more than my skeletons, but the skeletons are somewhat useful.

I seen loads of ppl do that, the skull thing. Even I did it.
I socketed my unique weapon, forgot what it was called now, but it was a unique sword.

For armor, you want a Goldskin.... for a helmet, just get a 3-socket circlet and put 3 perfect topaz's into it. Same with armor if you cant afford a Goldskin.

yeah that tends to be a problem but I Also used a IK maul(just for fun) But even with a shorter range its still pretty easy to kill things when they are up close. I never had problem killing most things Unless playing highest difficultly level but with 20% life drain per hit I didn't die very easy. Thanks for the heads up anyway.

I had a roommate who had like 700+%Mf with his bot running all day and soon he had every thing. Money is useless in that game, money is only for the first 20 levels or so and then bang, dont need it. MAX Corpse Explosion (No Brainer)
MAX Bone Spear OR Spirit.... one of them first, for killing power (Explodomancers need a body to start with!) and then the other for synergies.
MAX Clay Golem - With 160,000 hit points, no reason to have anyone else at point.
10+ into Bone Wall

A few points into Amp Damage, Bone Armor, and at the end, skellies just for crowd control. With the right items, (At least a +1 to all skills Wand, +1 to all skills Totem, +1 to all skills Ammy, +1 to all skills Circlet) you'll have enough for your Amp Damage to cover the screen, and your Corpse Explosion to cover the screen. Merc and Golem and Bone Wall to keep all the monsters in a nice, tight, combustible clump. Basically, you stand back, and as soon as there's ONE corpse, start spamming Corpse Explosion until the screen is empty. Recast spells as needed, and find the next mob. EXTREEMELY HANDY if you have a Convictor with you, as it can break Fire Immunes and you'll just rock your way through Hell difficulty with no problems.

Also, "Concentrator" is basically an Iron Barb. Eventually max Iron Skin, Shout, Concentrate, Battle Orders, and it's synergies, and with a shield, you'll be pretty much untouchable.

Also also, Phoenix Strike will NOT get you through Hell. There's just not enough damage. Will will need to get your +skills enough to get Phoenix Strike above level 24 just to get the fourth damage breakpoint, and even then up to skill level 26 or 27 you still won't kill fast enough.

Hey jake, what is the best way to maximize damage from kicks? Also, if you equip a serpentlord staff, does that mean that the kicks will absorb mana equal to the amount of damage done?if by absorb u mean steal then yes serpent lord steals 100% of the dmg dealt by kicks on a kicksin but as u progress your going to need better items, or use serpentlords when u run out of mana basically you put your str and dex to the bare minimum needed for every item your eventually going to wear then pump all into vitality as for skill points u max out dragon flight and 1 into each prerequisite 1 into BOS 1 into fade max claw mastery and weapon block well for high kick dmg u need alot of str and dex but thats takin away from your life also using shadow dancers with +2 is also a good way to increase your dmg




Explodomancer -

MAX Corpse Explosion (No Brainer)
MAX Bone Spear OR Spirit.... one of them first, for killing power (Explodomancers need a body to start with!) and then the other for synergies.
MAX Clay Golem - With 160,000 hit points, no reason to have anyone else at point.
10+ into Bone Wallwhy 10 into bone wall? wouldnt using the marrowwalk glitch be better? adds about 3k more dmg

No. i don't have Bone Wall. been THINKING of getting it, but i assume the monsters just walk AROUND it <_<

i focus on making my revived monsters distract the enemy as i focus on using spells like Bone Spirit. i love revive more than my skeletons, but the skeletons are somewhat useful.
if your still reading these posts, NO dont put into bone wall cause they CAN walk around it unless u spam bone walls then unless u have nigma you cant fight the other monsters and pretty useless againt Bosses and other chars in dueling cause all my chars detroy bone walls with just one hit so use the marrowwalk glitch and get an extra 3k dmg

nothin can get near her, just put a few on shock web and get a trusty rogue to help out and youll be fine, if they do get through however, just let them feel the power of a big two handed sword embedded in the side of thier skull.............

errr how about when u reach hell? an asn with a big two handed sword such as a ebotdcb or gf requires mucho str and i dont think asn's need that much str also even with synergies maxed out at 37 and 2 5/5 lite facets i only do about 3k smd per second with schok web and a rogue is shitty unles u can get it a ebotd hydra bow and 160/60 120/45 and even then iron maiden would kill it one shot so eh

But, anyway, just so this post doesn't go to waste, Ill write type how to make a bone necrmancer.

20 in teeth
20 in bone spear
20 in bone spirit
1 in bone shield
10 in bone wall
10 in bone prison.

Due to synergies, the wall and prison will cause the shield to absorb over 350 damage, and all other synergies will make the three main attack spells do mucho damage. In terms of equipment, I'd say get all of Trang-oul, and a white (Dol-Io) wand. Manalds help regaining magic, and about 110 energy is sufficient for costs for teeth and spirit spamming.

This game has the most boring combat ever. And randomly created places suck. I like finding new items and useing good combinations, but i dont lie the combat....at all

Blade Fury (which is based on Weapon Damage) - Definitely needs points in this.
Tiger Strike - Come on, 1400% damage... COME ON.....
Cobra Strike - 1 pt. MORE Than enough with this much damage.
Dragon Tail - Explodey-finisher non-pareil. With charged up Tiger Strike, NOTHING survives this.
Phoenix Strike - Can suck my ass. No points.

Burst of Speed - 10 pts or so will be enough to get your sword moving like a chainsaw.
Fade - 10 Points - This and BoS stack. Nuff said. With both at level ten you get almost 4 minutes at this.
Mind Blast - 1 pt here for mobbings to save your ass.
Shadow Master - Level 5 will give you a durable mule.

Blade Fury - 1 pt here is all you need, since eventually the "Bonus Damage" will pale in comparison to 3/4 Weapon Damage. You can max it if you have points. One mana to cast at level 1
Blade Shield - With no actual shield, or blocking, and low armor, you WILL Get mobbed. Take as many with you as you can.


And this.... is the Samurai. Recommended gear for various stages of the game:

Now, you don't NEED a sword, but they are the fastest. If you focus in Blades, go with a Maul / Great maul. For swords:

Shadowfang - Low damage, high leech. Good switch.
Crainte Vormir - slows enemies, increases your walk speed, WICKED fast.
Swordguard - Bad-ass damage, and big bonuses to defense.
Doombringer - Chance to Curse, +20% life, big damage. Woo.

The Minotaur - Axe. Crushing blow, big damage, blinds enemies.
Frostwind - +3 to skills, 4 sockets, WICKED FAST, Life leech, huge cold damage, 100% crushing blow, +300% damage to Demonds, and 65% cold immune = 30% of cold damage is turned into life. PLUS you assassin looks SO COL with an axe as big as she is.

Shaftstop - GREAT when you're getting pounded, -30% physical damage!
Skin of the Vipermagi - Big resist all, +1 to skills, high defense.

This samurai build really intrigued me so i decided to take up on it also. But i need some help.

Aldur's set wont max your Resists, and while you may be good at mobbing, 1000 life is NOTHING for endgame. You could get your ass blown off just going into the Worldstone Keep.

Still, impressive :) Furygeddon's do well.

heh yeah a really good smiter can do this if they have perfect gear etc, but i never liked them.

my class was always trap assassins. my last one got 11k light dmg with 2.5k life!

Samurai builds don't suck par say, they're just rather equipment dependent. And I'm talking equipment that's stupidly hard to find or cost way too much to trade for.

And if we want to go on about build suckage, I declare that Single Tree Sorcs suck. You're fine until you hit act 5 nightmare, where things start being dual immunity. And the most common immunities? Fire and Cold! Guess what? You single tree sorcs are SCREWED! So Triforce Sorcs FTW! :thumbsup:

meh umm i seriously cant see how samurai builds will be good even with good equipment, i think they would be raped in act 1 in hell...But for having fun, there are many builds that you can have fun with that not many people use and are effective.

For example...
Melee sorcs, they can deal huge amounts of dmg, but are not very common. Or A pally who uses a bow. There are alot of builds that DONt suck and are fun and new to play with.
