Why yes, I have. In fact, I own like four C&H books.

I own all but two. The sunday comics edition and the one where the transmogrifier is used before being refined to a telepathic gun.

No. I have neither heard of nor read this comic. Ever. I certainly haven't read it since I was able to read, and I definitely wasn't influenced by it artistically.

the creator of calvin and hobbes is another master of technobabble, very easily surpassing brian clevinger!

Bill Watterson is the greatest cartoonist to have ever lived. I've got every compilation book released and I'll just leave it at that.

Well of course I'm gonna. It's freakin' Calvin and Hobbes!
It really makes you appreciate commercialism, doesn't it?

I heard about that collection a while back. I'm gettin' it as soon as possible.
As for C&H, don't even try to question Bill Watterson's awesomeness. I wrote a biography on him as a class project once, I wrote a paper on why he was "My hero," and he inspired me to make a comic myself, wich is currently in the JellyCreations top 20.

Love it. I've got the Tenth Anniversary (sp?) Edition, and Weirdos From Another Planet. Intend on getting the others, though. The Spaceman Spiff bits rock. The original Transmogrifier, if you're interested. (http://www.rcs.ei.tum.de/~stoffler/boink.jpg)

Calvin and Hobbes rocks. Go buy one of the books, and you'll be hooked.
For those who didn't understand, Hobbes just maimed Calvin in the last VGcats.

Those are volumes of the comic, not a cartoon. Idiot. Bill Watterson has made it clear he never wants to market anything but comics for C&H. There will never be LEGALLY MADE cartoons, T-shirts, toys...anything.

I know, I'm going to be horribly flamed for this, but... I don't care much for Calvin and Hobbes *loads fanboy shotgun*.
Maybe it's because it never ran in the paper in my town so I don't have the fond memories you do, I dunno. I had seen maybe one, two comics of it before, and I don't relaly care to spent 150 bucks on that big set of it.... bring it on, fanboys. *ch-chk!*

Im a pretty big Calvin & Hobbes fan. It really is a great comic. I have 4 books, and the anniversary collection
I have a question though for those who've seen the WHOLE comic. Does Hobbes ever call Calvin by his name? He never seems to address Calvin by saying his name...

I imagine they'd be called Calvin and Hobbes.
And yes, Hobbes has addressed Calvin by his name before. "Hey Calvin! I think I can see where your plan might fail."

That would be Martijn Reemst's fansite. It's a real shame. That was the single greatest fansite ever. It had more info than the "official" site could ever hope to have, and it was extremely well-designed. I'll bet that if Bill knew, he'd get them to restore it. :iffy:

Hmmm... No. They aren't the same. Both of them are linked here (http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Gallery/3023/links.html). After Martijn's site (Long hailed as the best C&H site ever) was shut down, he even kept one page of it and posted where to buy each book and the news of the collection. That's dedication, when you're still endorsing the people who shut down your brainchild.

You mean my holy grail of comics? Why I only own all the books and practially worship the paper it's drawn on. I've been in love with it since I first discovered the joy of comics. When it was being printed I drew almost constantly and after Bill Waterson and Gary Larson stopped I did too. Hopefully this will help get the pencil back in my hand.

my favorite strip is the one where Calvin takes a pic of Hobbes lunging at him, and when he shows his dad he says "SEE! this is what he does to me!" and its a pic of the stuffed animal hobbes. makes me laugh every time.
it would seem reasonable if he became a teacher, most teachers i know said they hated teachers and never wanted to be one.
I also LOVE the million different snowmen he can make, that kid has skills.
