It's funny cause actual mission locations will spawn small groups of enemies, but random locations out in the middle of nowhere will try and crush you with neverending waves of skaggs. Lost Cave in particular was particularly brutal. I think that's the only time I've ever had to respawn like 5 times in a row. They spawned 3 Badmutha Shocking Skags, or whatever they are called, and my attacks barely put much of a dent in them. One or two is doable, but having three constantly lunging at you and zapping your shields away makes it crazy tough. And I'd get two of them down to a speck of life, die, and then when I came back they'd be at full health again. I eventually just equipped the strongest explosive grenades possible (as opposed to my usual transfusion grenades), and then bombarded them with grenades and SMG fire until I'd start getting low on health, and then I'd phasewalk to safety. I'd occasionally make a run for the vending machines to stock up on SMG ammo and grenades, and eventually I took them down. That entire cave was great for experience, though. I had recently turned 40 before entering the cave, and was almost 42 after I cleared it out.

Trying to phase AT ALL makes my game crash, what the fuck, it was working just fine last night. Agh. Decided to take the chance and started a new game as Mort, guess what, first guy i try to melee, crash. Fucking lovely. The game has been working fine for days, what the hell has changed. The PC version is not sounding too great at the moment.
Glad I opted for the xbawks. But yeah seriously, I'm sick of playing Skaglands. That's all I've been fighting...forever. I'm about to enter the shock crystal quest at the lost cave, kind of worried now thanks to Rama. =/
