These games are unique in not only being legendarily bad, but by being made fun of by people who most likely never played them. So for the benefit of those who were born after CD-i was displayed in Sears and Service Merchandises all over the country with a sticker price of $400 and up (I remember begging my dad for one, thank god we were poor) I present the endings and intros for The Faces of Evil and The Wand of Gamelon.
I'm sure some of you have seen these, but for the benefit of those who haven't: The Faces of Evil. NOT INTO THE PIT, IT BURNS!!! The Wand of Gamelon. The price of high treason in Hyrule: light housework. Zelda and her dad look so fucking freaky when they're laughing at the end of this. Also note how you basically defeat Ganon the exact same way in both games. Faces of Evil Intro So the Jesus Fish says that only Link can beat Ganon. Wand of Gamelon Intro I can't decide what my favorite is:"I'm so hungry I could eat an Octorok!", or "I can't wait to bomb some Dodongos!" BONUS:Well excuuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee me princess!! |

You have to remember though Trav that the Sega Saturn, the Commodore Amiga CD32, the Phillips CD-i, the Panasonic 3DO, the Atari Jaguar, and the Sony PlayStation were suppose to be the next step in Console gaming. So before this it was Super-Nintendo and Sega Genesis and they don't compare to full motion animation... no matter how bad it is you just couldn't have anything that cool on a 16-bit system. It’s sad that only 2 out of those 7 actually made it in the long run. I remember being in a store that had the CD-i, Jaguar, 3DO, and PlayStation available to be played and just wanting them all since they all had different things to offer. Thank god we were poor too.

My reasoning for wanting CD-i back in the day was that I was 100% convinced that interactive FMV games were the wave of the future, and Ground Zero Texas looked the best on CD-i.

Ahh you responded before I was finished editing. Yeah, I was also convinced of the same thing.

Even when wrestling with snakes or falling to his death, he has time to be smarmy.

The best part of these are their wildly gesticulating arms and constantly rolling eyeballs.

I've never seen these, and still refuse to out of fear.
But, I don't make fun of them, half out of not knowing enough to and half because I don't like beating most dead horses

Making this happen.

I watched it. I can't un-watch it.
All kidding aside, it's not as bad as you think it is, King. It just mangles Zelda and everything it stands for. |
